NORFOX smashes £350,000 donations target as £14,000 goes to 8 North West Children's charities this Xmas
The largest funding award since 2017 at £14,000 was announced by NORFOX to the cheers of 140 loyal supporters at the legendary NORFOX Xmas Lunch on Thursday 7 December.
Stewart Grant, the outgoing Chair of NORFOX, said that the 20-year donations target of £350,000 had also been reached, with funds going forward to ensure that the bar could be raised even higher next year.
NORFOX is a charity which works hard to fundraise to ‘change children's lives' in the region and this year also celebrated its 20th birthday. Held at The Castlefield Rooms, supporters went to town at the Xmas Lunch for everyone's favourite specially adapted carol for the event 'Fourteen Days of Christmas', which allows 14 tables to don fancy dress and sing their verse with great gusto!

Three retiring trustees - Barbara Wroblewski, Helen Thomas (Secretary/Treasurer), and Stewart Grant (Chair) - with a joint total of 50 years' service to NORFOX were honoured with an award presentation by incoming Chair Chris Corrigan, who paid tribute to all three for the outstanding contribution they had made to NORFOX from its earliest days to the present.
Mark Gallimore, Group Managing Director of Living City and outgoing Main Sponsor, also delivered an amusing speech on his long-standing relationship with retiring Chair Stewart Grant from their college days to present times.
The winners of the award for 'THE BEST DRESSED FOR XMAS' were HORIZON Fletcher-Rae on the “Twelve Drummers Drumming” table. Thanks to Manchester Airports Group (MAG) a VIP travel package which included parking, fast track security and admission to the VIP Lounge for 4 travellers was auctioned to raise another £230 for the charity.
